Invented by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century, the Pilates Method has been helping all walks of life correct postural deviations, shape long lean muscles and uniformly develop the body as a whole. By strengthening the body’s core muscles – muscles in the abdominals, pelvis, spine and hips – Pilates helps to alleviate decompression in the joints, promote a deeper level of body awareness and create a balanced range of movement. From athletes to knee surgery patients, Pilates helps build inner strength so that every workout is more effective and everyday movement is easier.
Many students practice Pilates in its purest form on the Mat while others prefer the use of equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac or Chair. At The Studio, we firmly believe in making this method, and the use of its equipment, available to everyBODY – not just the ones who can afford private sessions. Ask about our Sliding Scale Saturdays or book a class and experience how Pilates will change the way you move through every step of your life.
Or contact M with questions or to set up a group Pilates classes with friends.
When all of your muscles are properly developed you will…perform your work with minimum effort and maximum pleasure. -Joseph Pilates
